3 | lg | To 4 lg. onions; diced |
3 | cl | Garlic; minced OR |
1/2 | ts | Garlic powder |
2 | lg | Cans Italian plum tomatoes; pureed in blender |
1/4 | ts | Black and white pepper |
3 | tb | Olive oil |
1/4 | lb | Prosciutto; diced |
1 | cn | 8-oz. tomato sauce |
1/2 | c | Fresh basil; chopped OR |
1 | tb | Dried basil |
1/4 | ts | Salt |
Saute onions with garlic in olive oil for about 5 mins. Add prosciutto and cook a few minutes longer. Add tomato sauce and simmer for about 3 to 4 minutes. Add plum tomatoes, salt, and pepper and cook 1 hr. Serve over linguine or your favorite macaroni.
