Title: Sidney's Cornbread

1/2 | c | Sifted flour |
1 1/2 | c | Yellow cornmeal |
1 | ts | Salt |
2 | ts | Sugar |
3 | ts | Baking powder |
3 | Eggs, beaten lightly | |
1 | c | Milk |
1/4 | c | Cream |
1/2 | c | Butter, melted |
Sift the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add the eggs and milk and beat with a spoon until the mixture is just moist. Beat in the cream and melted butter. (Do not overbeat.) Pour the batter into an 8 1/2 x 11-inch buttered pan. Bake at 400-degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
Yield: approximately 12 pieces.
